Sounds of spring

SPRING TIME SOUNDS you might hear at Portbury Wharf

The calls of skylark, curlew and cuckoo (the first cuckoo this year was heard here on 5 April 2018). These 3 birds all have one thing in common, they are all on the UK RED LIST of birds of greatest conservation concern due to their falling numbers, so we are very lucky to hear them. Try playing them altogether for your very own spring time chorus!

  1. Skylark days are here again . . .

2. Curlews bring that haunting sound to Portbury Wharf

3. If you are very lucky you might hear a cuckoo.
